STIFT INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL MASTERCLASSES - 28 August 2011 - 3 September 2011

The Masterclasses are part of the Stift International Music Festival 2011, that will take place in the beautiful Stiftskerk in Weerselo, and in the Hofkerk and Koetshuis in the pretty market town of Oldenzaal. During the Festival there are concerts and classes and every day, given by members of the faculty and by visiting artists.
This year masterclasses and coaching will be given by the following leading musicians:

viola Joel Waterman, Nathan Braude
violoncello David Cohen, Evelien Prakke
doublebass Zoran Markovic
piano Bengt Forsberg, Polina Leschenko, Andrea Rücli, Natacha Kudritskaya
Chamber music coaching will be given by the artists listed above, as well as:
The Brodsky Quartet: Daniel Rowland & Ian Belton, violin, Paul Cassidy, viola, Jacqueline Thomas, violoncello Chen Halevi, clarinet Benjamin Roskams, violin and viola John Thwaites, piano
And coaching is also possible with the SIMF Young Festival Artists:
Trio Monte: Anca Lupu, piano, Francesco Sica, violin, Claude Frochaux, cello and Karolina Weltrowska, violin
Access to all Festival concerts is free for students of the Masterclasses (subject to availability). Besides the Masterclasses students are offered chamber music coaching. Pre-formed ensembles (string quartets, piano trios and other combinations) are very welcome, as are individual participants. Please feel free to indicate any friends you would like to play with during the festival. Each ensemble can expect several coaching sessions by members of the faculty, and selected ensembles and Masterclass participants will perform at afternoon and evening concerts. Some students will be invited to perform chamber music with faculty members. During the week a Festival Chamber Orchestra will be formed that will perform together with faculty soloists during a special concert. lessons with various faculty members can often be arranged, and are indeed encouraged. Students are recommended to attend the full length of the Festival.

Practical information: Participation fee: € 550,- Including masterclasses, chamber music coaching, Festival Orchestra, access to all concerts (subject to availability), accommodation with host families, all lunches and most evening meals. There are reduced fees for participants applying as part of a chamber group - please inquire about details. Not included: (international)travel to Oldenzaal, medical and other insurance, visa, personal expenses and all other items not mentioned.
Deadline: July 15th 2011. Applications are handled on a First-come, first-served policy. New applicants may be asked to send a (video) recording.
